Under the empowerment of 5G, the Chinese aircraft industry is accelerating towards a new stage of 'integrated intelligent collaboration of air, space, and earth'. Low altitude aircraft rely on 5G connected terminals (such as DJI Tianyu Cloud Box M1/M2) to achieve beyond line of sight remote control and real-time 4K video transmission. China Telecom has landed over 500 projects nationwide, and Anyang has built the world's largest 1272 square kilometer 5G low altitude private network. The 5G-A integrated sensing technology has been deployed first at airports such as Hannan, Xiamen, and Baoshan in Wuhan. The base station has both communication and radar sensing capabilities, and can accurately identify targets such as drones and birds. The airspace safety response time has been reduced to milliseconds. The ground operation of civil aviation has been fully upgraded, and the 5G AeroMACS dedicated network is based on the 5091-5150MHz frequency band, achieving low latency communication between aircraft, vehicles, and towers within ≤ 40ms. The pilot project at Hongqiao Airport has reduced the ground taxiing time of flights by 18%. In the field of intelligent manufacturing, COMAC has built the world's first 5G fully connected factory, with 5G+AR remote maintenance, 5G machine vision inspection, and centimeter level precise positioning (error<3cm) deeply embedded in the entire process of C919 development. At the policy level, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology will clearly promote the adaptation of 5G RedCap modules to low altitude aircraft in 2026, reducing power consumption by 50% and costs by 40%, supporting the large-scale application of long-range and lightweight aircraft. 5G is transforming from a 'communication pipeline' to the 'nerve center' and 'intelligent perception agent' of aircraft.
