The deep integration of China's insulation materials industry and energy storage industry is reconstructing the industrial ecology with high safety, high reliability, and intelligence as the axis. In energy storage systems, insulation materials undertake the triple core functions of cell isolation, thermal runaway blocking, and electrical insulation, promoting the upgrade of materials from traditional PET and epoxy boards to high-performance systems such as polyimide (PI) film, silicone composite coating, BOPET flexible insulation tape, etc. The breakdown strength exceeds 30kV/mm, and the volume resistivity exceeds 1 × 10 ¹⁶Ω· cm, meeting the requirements of fast charging temperature rise and -40 ℃ extreme working conditions. Enterprises such as Dongcai Technology, Zhejiang Rongtai, and Baijia Era have taken the lead in launching specialized insulation solutions. Among them, Baijia Era has pioneered single-layer flexible PTE tape, which improves bonding accuracy by 40% and achieves cell level puncture protection; Guoxuan High tech has independently developed a patent for insulation connectors, which integrates multiple specifications of fixed functions such as fuses and copper bars to enhance system integration. On the policy side, the '14th Five Year Plan' for new materials and the 'Implementation Plan for Innovative Development of Fine Chemical Industry' clearly support the research and development of high voltage resistant, halogen-free and flame-retardant insulation materials. The national energy storage safety standards are being accelerated, forcing the entire industry to shift from 'passive protection' to 'active insulation design'. The industry is building an integrated innovation chain of 'materials structure systems', and the cost of insulation materials remains stable at 5% -8%, becoming a key variable for the safety of energy storage systems.
