In the past decade, China's IoT module industry has experienced a leapfrog development from technological catch-up to global leadership, and has become the core engine of the global industry. On the technical level, the industry has built a collaborative ecosystem of 'NB IoT meets low speed, Cat.1 bis dominates medium speed, 5G and RedCap support high speed', accurately covering the full scenario needs from smart meters to connected vehicles. At the market level, China has built the world's largest NB IoT network, and the number of IoT connections is expected to exceed 3.5 billion by 2025, deeply driving global market growth. In terms of industrial structure, Chinese enterprises have taken an absolute dominant position. In the first quarter of 2025, the top five global shipments were all Chinese enterprises, with a total share of 69%. Among them, the global market share of China Mobile Communications exceeded one-third, continuing to lead the way. In terms of development momentum, the industry is evolving from its early role of 'connecting pipeline' to 'intelligent hardware' integrating AI acceleration and edge computing capabilities, and its value is constantly being explored. At the same time, high cost-effective products represented by Cat.1 bis modules have not only been widely applied in domestic smart meters, POS terminals and other fields, but have also successfully expanded to markets such as South Korea and Southeast Asia, achieving comprehensive leadership in technology, products and markets.
