The Chinese lead-acid battery industry has accelerated its overseas expansion in the past decade, shifting from simple product exports to a global layout of 'manufacturing+localization+recycling'. In 2024, the export volume will reach 246 million units, with an export value of approximately 2.92 billion US dollars. Southeast Asia (Indonesia, Malaysia, Vietnam) is the largest incremental market, while the United States and Germany are high-value core markets. The export growth rates of the Middle East and Latin America in 2025 will reach 107% and 99% respectively. Leading companies such as Chaowei, Tianneng, and Camel have established assembly factories in Vietnam, India, Mexico, and Brazil to avoid tariff barriers and achieve the 'Chinese core components+local final assembly' model. The export product structure continues to optimize, with starter batteries accounting for over 60%, electric tricycles and energy storage batteries growing significantly, and high-end products such as AGM/EFB entering the European and American markets. The compliance threshold has been significantly raised. Starting from August 2024, the EU's 'New Battery Law' requires lead content ≤ 0.01%, carbon footprint disclosure, and extended producer responsibility. Enterprises have fully passed CE, UL, UN38.3, and RoHS certifications. The industry is building an 'export recycling' closed loop, and Tianneng, Huayou Recycling, and other European companies such as Suez are cooperating to establish recycling networks in response to the global trend of circular economy. Despite the continuous replacement of lithium batteries in high-energy scenarios, lead-acid batteries still have irreplaceability in low-speed transportation, communication backup, microgrids and other scenarios due to their cost advantages and safety reliability. By 2025, their global market share will still account for 38.6%, and their overseas strategy is moving from 'quantity increase' to a new stage of 'quality stability+green chain'.
