The Chinese locomotive industry and energy storage industry are achieving deep integration through technological homology, industrial synergy, and system innovation. Rail transit equipment giants such as CRRC Zhuzhou have extended the core IGBT chips, converters, and control technology of high-speed rail to the energy storage field, building a complete industrial chain from devices to systems. At the application level, integration is mainly reflected in three directions: firstly, the rapid development of new energy locomotives, including pure electric, hybrid and hydrogen energy locomotives, such as the 1000kW battery powered locomotive developed by CRRC Dalian Company, and the first 3000kW charging and swapping integrated pure electric locomotive in China, which has been put into operation at Lianyungang Port. These locomotives achieve 'zero emissions' and significantly reduce operating costs through high-capacity battery systems. The second is to build a 'grid source storage vehicle' collaborative energy supply system, such as the demonstration project put into operation in Baoshen Railway Group, integrating photovoltaic, energy storage, and traction power supply to achieve new energy access, regenerative braking energy recovery, and load peak shaving and valley filling. The third is the key role of energy storage technology in energy management of rail transit. A hybrid energy storage solution of 'lithium battery+supercapacitor' is adopted to achieve emergency traction through on-board energy storage, and ground energy storage recovers braking energy, improving system energy efficiency and safety. In addition, the industry ensures battery supply and promotes the green transformation of old diesel locomotives through strategic partnerships such as CRRC Zhuzhou, Haichen Energy Storage, and CATL. Overall, the integration of locomotives and energy storage is driving the transformation of rail transit towards green, intelligent, and efficient development, helping to achieve the 'dual carbon' goal.
