The Chinese metal bearing structure industry deeply empowers the traditional construction, transportation, and energy industries through three major technological axes: BIM digital design, intelligent equipment integration, and digital twin monitoring. In the field of construction, enterprises such as China Construction Technology and Engineering Corporation rely on BIM models to drive layout robots and intelligent welding systems, achieving millimeter level precision installation of steel structural components. The construction period of the Nankang project in Ganzhou has been shortened by 34 days; In bridge and tower engineering, Zhenhua Heavy Industry integrates 3D modeling and MES system to achieve paperless manufacturing for super large projects such as the Hong Kong Zhuhai Macao Bridge. On the policy side, the 'Technical Standard for Cold Formed Steel Structures' (GB/T50018-2025) has added design indicators for thick and ultra-thin wall steel, promoting standardization upgrading, and the proportion of steel used in manufacturing has risen to 51%. The Internet of Things and digital twin technology have enabled real-time stress and vibration sensing, as well as damage warning, in major projects such as the National Aquatics Center's 'Water Cube', building a full lifecycle health monitoring system. High end steel products such as high-temperature resistant alloys still rely partially on imports, and the localization rate of intelligent welding is less than 60%. The collaborative standard system needs to be improved, but the industry is accelerating its transformation from 'load-bearing components' to 'intelligent perception carriers'.
