The Chinese metal cutting machine tool industry is accelerating towards a new stage of fully connected, high-precision, and adaptive intelligent manufacturing under the empowerment of 5G. The low latency and high reliability characteristics of 5G support the global networking of machine tool equipment. Enterprises such as Benxi Tools and China First Heavy Industries have deployed 5G private networks to achieve real-time data collection and remote operation and maintenance of more than 34 CNC machine tools. The defect detection rate has been increased to 98%, the efficiency of a single machine has been improved by over 40%, and the comprehensive manufacturing cost has been reduced by 15.2%. The industry builds digital twin production lines through 5G+edge computing, supports multi machine collaborative processing, vibration monitoring and adaptive parameter optimization, and promotes the large-scale implementation of 'black light factory'. By 2025, the production of metal cutting machine tools will reach 783000 units, a year-on-year increase of 12.7%. The export growth rate of high-end five axis machine tools will reach 21.5%, and the localization rate will exceed 71%. Driven by policies, the CNC rate of key processes has reached 51% by 2024, with a target of 75% by 2027. 5G has become the core foundation for achieving the dual wheel drive of 'equipment update+intelligent upgrade', and the industry is transforming from an 'equipment supplier' to an 'intelligent manufacturing system service provider'.
