The Chinese meteorological buoy industry has achieved a systematic leap from 'isolated observation' to 'intelligent networking and second level response' under the empowerment of 5G. Relying on 5G eMBB (Enhanced Mobile Broadband) and uRLLC (Ultra Low Latency Communication) technology, the multi parameter sensors (wind speed, temperature, humidity, pressure, waves, ocean currents, etc.) carried by the buoy achieve millisecond level data transmission, with a transmission rate increased by more than 10 times and a delay of less than 20ms, supporting the compression of short-term warning response time to 6 seconds. In coastal areas such as Shandong, Fujian, and Qingdao, 5G base stations are integrated with satellites and microwaves to form a 'sea land private network' with continuous coverage of 40 kilometers near the sea. The integrity of buoy data reaches over 99%. Through the use of 5G DTU industrial modules and low-power design, the equipment operates stably in high salt spray and strong corrosion environments, and the solar power supply system supports 7 × 24-hour unmanned operation. China Unicom and Ocean University of China have created the '5G+Beidou' intelligent observation network to realize the collaborative perception of 21 types of marine elements. AI driven edge computing has increased the ecological risk identification rate by 80%. The national '14th Five Year Plan' marine monitoring system has incorporated 5G into the core of smart marine infrastructure, promoting the upgrade of buoys from single data acquisition units to 'ocean digital nerve endings' with edge intelligence, autonomous calibration, and remote operation and maintenance capabilities, providing a highly reliable data base for disaster prevention and reduction, marine economy, and carbon neutrality monitoring.
