In the past decade, China's new energy powertrain industry has accelerated its overseas expansion, shifting from product exports to a deep layout of global production capacity and supply chains. The core driving force of this process is the global rise of domestic new energy vehicle brands, whose outstanding market performance provides strong 'value endorsement' for the upstream 'three electric' system (electric drive, power supply, battery). The industry is expanding rapidly, and taking United Power as an example, its overseas revenue compound annual growth rate from 2022 to 2024 is close to 450%. In 2024, the export volume of new energy vehicles in China exceeded 2 million units for the first time, driving the export volume of power batteries to 133.7 GWh. CATL's overseas shipments accounted for 38.7% of the global market share. The overseas model has been upgraded from simple trade exports to a localized system of 'production base+supply chain+service network'. Enterprises directly serve major markets such as Europe, Southeast Asia, and Latin America by building factories in Hungary, Thailand, Brazil, and other places. However, the industry is also facing a shift in growth rate and external challenges, such as EU tariffs and complex overseas policy environments, which require companies to rely on continuous technological innovation, cost control, and geopolitical risk response capabilities to consolidate and expand their global market share.
