In the past decade, China's optoelectronic device industry has accelerated its overseas expansion, moving from 'product export' to a new stage of 'global operation'. In 2024, the industry's export value reached 40.424 billion US dollars, a year-on-year increase of 9.5%, of which optical communication components (such as high-speed optical modules) accounted for nearly 60%. The export market presents diversification, with Southeast Asia (42%), North America (23%), and Europe (18%) becoming the main destinations. The core driving this trend is technological breakthroughs and cost advantages: domestic enterprises have achieved mass production and entered the world's top tier in high-end fields such as 800G/1.6T optical modules, silicon optical integration, and co packaged optics (CPO), with a global market share of over 60%. The overseas business model of enterprises has undergone profound evolution, with top companies such as Huagong Technology experiencing a 46% surge in overseas revenue by 2025, and building a 'global R&D, manufacturing, and service' network by establishing factories in Thailand, Vietnam, and other places. At the same time, the industry has actively responded to the restructuring of the global supply chain and trade barriers, relying on the 'the Belt and Road' cooperation and customized service capabilities, while consolidating the OEM market, it has gradually upgraded to high-end brands and solution providers. Currently, China's optoelectronic devices are reshaping the global competitive landscape of the optoelectronic industry with their full industry chain advantages and rapid iteration capabilities.
