The integration of China's server industry and energy storage industry is accelerating its transformation from 'passive power supply' to 'active participation in power system regulation', with the core driving force being the implementation of the national strategy of 'computing and power coordination'. The 2026 government work report explicitly requires for the first time that the proportion of energy storage supporting facilities in newly built intelligent computing centers should reach 15% -20%, and the proportion of green electricity should not be less than 80%, promoting the transformation of data centers from power terminals to flexible adjustment resources in the power system. In 2024, the electricity consumption of data centers in China will reach 166 billion kilowatt hours, accounting for 1.68% of the total electricity consumption in society. It is expected to rise to 3% by 2030, and the cost of electricity has already accounted for 10% -30% of the operating expenses of smart computing centers. Technologically, deep integration of liquid cooled servers and liquid cooled energy storage systems has become mainstream. Huawei has released a full field scenario network energy storage platform, and CATL has launched a 9MWh ultra large capacity TENER Stack system, achieving energy efficiency synergy from battery cells to system level. Leading enterprises such as Tencent and ByteDance have deployed lithium iron phosphate energy storage systems in Shanghai Jiading and other places to achieve peak shaving and valley filling, replacement of standby power supply and direct connection with green power. The energy storage capacity of a single project has reached 1.8MWh, saving more than 50% of the land area. Under policy guidance, the eight major hub nodes of 'East Data West Calculation' are accelerating the layout of integrated projects for source, grid, load, and storage. The energy storage system not only ensures power supply reliability, but also obtains economic benefits through participation in the electricity spot market and auxiliary services, promoting the transition of data centers from 'high energy consuming' to 'high elastic' energy nodes.
