The integration of China's automotive engine industry and new energy industry has shifted from 'substitution game' to 'collaborative symbiosis', forming a new paradigm of 'electric drive dominant and engine efficient assistance' supported by plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs) and extended range vehicles (EREVs). Mainstream enterprises such as BYD DM-i, Geely Raytheon Hi-X, Great Wall Lemon DHT, Chery Kunpeng CDD, etc., all use dedicated high-efficiency engines (with a thermal efficiency of over 43%) as range extenders or direct drive units, combined with multi speed DHT transmissions to achieve full speed parallel connection. The engine transforms from a power core to an intelligent energy management system's 'power generation module'. By 2025, the retail penetration rate of new energy vehicles will exceed 60%, with plug-in hybrid and extended range models accounting for nearly 50% of sales, becoming the main engine of market growth. Engine technology is evolving towards miniaturization, high thermal efficiency, low friction, and intelligent thermal management, coupled with blade batteries, silicon carbide electronic control, and global OTA, to build an integrated intelligent power system of 'electric machine control thermal'. The national policy continues to promote the 'dual carbon' goal, with charging infrastructure covering 98% of the country's highway service areas, and battery swapping models being implemented on a large scale in the heavy truck sector, driving the power system from 'fuel dependence' to 'energy diversification'. The industry is accelerating its transformation towards 'zero carbon power+intelligent control' dual wheel drive, and traditional internal combustion engine technology is revitalized in the new energy system.
