The Chinese cast iron industry is accelerating its deep integration with 5G technology, promoting the transition from traditional manufacturing to smart factories. Wuhu Xinxing Cast Pipe has built a national '5G+full connection factory', deployed 500+5G access points and MEC edge computing platform, realized intelligent production of furnace bench, real-time monitoring of molten metal and full life cycle tracing of 'digital cast pipe', and improved the comprehensive utilization rate of equipment to more than 90%. Shanghai Hesheng Machinery relies on 5G+MEC private network to replace AI robotic arms for high-risk '3D environment' processes such as slurry sticking and casting, building a smart brain to achieve multi workshop collaboration and capacity release, and reducing labor costs by over 60%. Shanxi Jianlong, Jincheng Iron and Steel and other enterprises have achieved visualized operation and maintenance of the entire iron and steel rolling process through 5G low latency video monitoring (latency<100ms) and equipment online monitoring, reducing unplanned downtime by 35%. The 5G+machine vision inspection system achieves an accuracy of 0.02mm in identifying surface defects on castings, with a 20 fold increase in detection efficiency, replacing manual sampling. Edge computing cooperates with PLC remote centralized control and AGV intelligent scheduling to promote dynamic optimization of process parameters and form a 'perception transmission analysis control' closed loop. In the '2025 5G Factory List' of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, multiple projects in the field of cast iron have been selected, marking the industry's transition from single point automation to systematic intelligent upgrading.
