The Chinese industrial electric furnace industry and energy storage industry are accelerating deep integration, forming a two-way driving pattern of 'production end energy optimization' and 'material end process support'. On the energy side, high energy consuming electric furnaces achieve cost reduction and green electricity consumption through 'valley electricity storage and peak electricity use'. Changshu Longteng Steel Enterprise uses energy storage systems to charge during low valley periods at night and smelt during the day, saving more than one million yuan in a single operation; Jingjiang Special Steel has built the first 100% green electric steelmaking microgrid in China, equipped with a 120MW/240MWh grid type energy storage system, achieving independent operation of wind and solar energy storage, reducing carbon emissions by 52000 tons annually, and setting a zero carbon benchmark. On the material side, key processes such as sintering of positive and negative electrode materials for lithium batteries and nickel iron smelting heavily rely on industrial electric furnaces. The sintering furnace for lithium iron phosphate requires precise temperature control (600-900 ℃) under a nitrogen atmosphere. The Indonesian nickel iron project, which is contracted by China's ENFI EPC, is equipped with a 72MVA rectangular electric furnace, which directly supports the production of battery grade nickel sulfate. At the policy level, the 'Guidelines for the Construction and Application of Industrial Green Microgrids (2026-2030)' explicitly encourage the integration of source, grid, load, and storage, and promote the configuration of energy storage systems in electric furnace enterprises to improve energy efficiency and resilience. On the industrial side, manufacturers such as Bangshida and Sereda have launched lithium battery heat treatment equipment that integrates intelligent temperature control and energy-saving design, achieving an evolution from a single device to a 'electric furnace+energy storage' system level solution.
