The lighting fixture industry in China is accelerating its deep integration with 5G technology, driving the transformation of urban lighting from a single-function light source device to an intelligent infrastructure integrating communication, perception, control, and service. With 5G smart lamp poles as the core carrier, the industry achieves 'multi-pole integration' and 'one pole with multiple functions', integrating LED intelligent lighting, 5G micro base stations, environmental monitoring, video surveillance, information dissemination, emergency broadcasting, and charging piles to build a city-level IoT perception network. The 5G smart pole project implemented by CECEP Jinghe Technology in Nanchang Ganjiang New Area achieves fine-grained dimming and fault warning for each luminaire through an AI-driven cloud platform, achieving an energy-saving rate of over 60%. It also connects to tens of thousands of IoT terminals, supporting data fusion across multiple scenarios such as transportation, security, and environmental protection. According to an industry white paper, the market size of China's smart streetlight reached 45.26 billion yuan in 2023 and is expected to exceed 120 billion yuan by 2029. The technological evolution is moving from 'remote switching' to an intelligent closed loop of 'perception-computing-interaction'. The introduction of edge computing and 5G network slicing technology significantly enhances response speed and system reliability, making the lighting system a data entry point and nerve endings for smart cities.
